Experiencing connection issues?
We strongly recommend using Wi-Fi Direct due to improved latency and ability to circumvent many connection issues. Please select your operating system for further guidance: Windows, Mac, Linux
Work-issued computers: Corporate security can be very restrictive. If you have trouble connecting even via WiFi Direct, it is probably due to a corporate firewall. Please reach out to us at our Discord for help.
VPN or Firewall Errors
Ensure that your computer and the VR headset are both connected to the same band (5Ghz or 2.4Ghz) Wi-Fi network. Also make sure that no VPNs, firewalls or anti-virus services are blocking a connection.
Windows
Make sure Immersed is allowed through Windows Firewall. You should see Immersed show up twice, like so:
Please see our Windows connection page for troubleshooting.
macOS
Verify that Immersed has the appropriate macOS permissions: Accessibility
and Screen Recording
. Please see our macOS connection page for troubleshooting.
Linux
Please see our Linux connection page for troubleshooting.
⚠️ Note: VPN software such as Check Point and FortiClient seem to install their own application firewalls that run even when the VPN is turned off. This Github page may be helpful: VPN Firewalls
Note: Immersed takes no responsibility for any issues the above link may cause.
VPNs: Things to Try
- Try connecting to the VPN after successfully connecting to Immersed.
- If you are able to set up your VPN within a virtual machine, then you can utilize the VPN in the VM, while still being connected to Immersed.
Port Errors
By default, we utilize TCP/UDP port ranges 21000-21010. We also support custom port selection. If you have issues with the default ports or would like to utilize different ports, please reach out to us at: https://www.immersed.com/community
