My screens are laggy. What can I do?

If you're experiencing latency issues with your virtual screens there are a few things we can consider. Immersed uses Wi-Fi to cast the contents of your computer into virtual reality. Some factors to consider are:

  • how far away you are from the router
  • what network band you're on (we recommend 5ghz versus 2.4ghz)
  • how much of your local network bandwidth is being used by other devices in your home or office.
  • how many screens you have and what their resolutions are
  • how powerful your computer is
  • how much stuff is changing on the screens at any given time.

To improve your latency, we recommend using Wi-Fi Direct or our USB wired connection (in BETA). Wi-Fi Direct creates a mobile hotspot from your computer so your headset can connect directly to it.
